Kaprizov's 2 goals power Wild to a 4-1 win over Ducks

ANAHEIM --Kirill Kaprizov scored two goals for the Minnesota Wild in a 4-1 win against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Wednesday.

Matt Dumba and Joseph Cramarossa scored, and Filip Gustavsson made 31 saves for his first victory with the Wild (6-6-1), who won their 11th straight game against the Ducks to increase their longest such streak against one opponent in their history.
Kaprizov took an NHL career-high nine shots on goal one night after receiving a game misconduct at 14:48 of the second period for high-sticking Drew Doughty in a 1-0 loss at the Los Angeles Kings.
"He's clearly one of the best players in the League," Minnesota coach Dean Evason said. "He has the puck all the time."

Pavol Regenda scored his first NHL goal, and John Gibson made 35 saves for the Ducks (4-9-1), who remain the only NHL team without a regulation win.
"It's difficult losing. You put a lot of effort into these games and we're losing a lot more than we'd like to right now," Anaheim defenseman Cam Fowler said. "Just got to dust ourselves off and get ready for Saturday (against the Chicago Blackhawks)."
Kaprizov redirected a pass 13 seconds into a power play to tie it 1-1 at 16:37 of the second period and end a Wild drought of 159:45 without a goal.
"The whole group took a sigh," Evason said.
The Ducks were down to four defensemen in the third period because of injuries to Kevin Shattenkirk (lower body) and Nathan Beaulieu (undisclosed) and the Wild took advantage.
"Going down to four defensemen is not ideal," Fowler said. "Obviously, [Shattenkirk and Beaulieu] are a big part of the team, so wishing them a speedy recovery, but injuries are a part of the game and we had to hang in there."
Minnesota moved ahead 2-1 at 1:41.
Connor Dewar centered a pass that went off the skate of teammate Mason Shaw and into the slot. Dumba was skating through and scored on a one-timer.

Kaprizov scored his 10th goal of the season from the side of the net on a 5-on-3 power play to make it 3-1 at 3:23.
The Ducks turned the puck over behind their net and Cramarossa scored his first NHL goal since Feb. 14, 2017 to extend the lead to 4-1 at 11:42.
"It was a good forecheck, both of our forwards got up the ice and I was kind of just trailing in there," Cramarossa said. "Seeing where it popped out, it just came right to my stick, so I kind of closed my eyes and threw it on net."
Ducks forward Trevor Zegras appeared to score the third lacrosse-style goal of his NHL career at 4:01 of the second period, but Evason challenged for offsides and the goal was nullified when video review determined Dmitry Kulikov preceded the puck into the offensive zone.

Anaheim took a 1-0 lead at 13:24. Kulikov blocked a shot to start a 2-on-2 rush. Frank Vatrano stopped in the Minnesota zone and passed to a trailing Regenda for a one-timer.
Regenda was playing his sixth NHL game. He was recalled from San Diego of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.
"It's amazing, it's a dream, so I'm so happy it went in," Regenda said. "I think it was great work from the whole line and I'm so happy it can be at Honda Center."
Kaprizov had a breakaway at 3:44 of the first period, but Gibson made a right pad save to help the Ducks hold an opponent scoreless in the first period for the third time this season.
