The Minnesota Wild signed goaltender Josh Harding to a three-year contract extension, the club announced Tuesday.
Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported the contract is worth $5.7 million, with an annual average value of $1.9 million.
Harding set a career-high with 34 games played last season for the Wild. He has been the backup to Niklas Backstrom for four of the past five seasons (he missed the 2010-11 campaign with a knee injury).
He has a career save percentage of .916 and a goals against average of 2.65. Harding celebrated his 28th birthday Monday, and was a second-round pick in the 2002 NHL Draft by the Wild.
