Mike Aviani scores twice as Spokane Chiefs blow out Everett Silvertips 8-1 @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - Mike Aviani scored twice as the Spokane Chiefs hammered the Everett Silvertips 8-1 in Western Hockey League action Sunday.

Tyler King, Jarid Hauptman, Carter Proft, Mitch Holmberg, Anthony Bardaro and Dominik Uher each scored for Spokane (9-4-1).

Tyler Maxwell's second-period goal on the power play was the lone score of the night for Everett (4-13-3).

Chiefs goaltender Luke Lee-Knight made 17 saves for the win, while at the other end Kent Simpson was kept busy with 39 saves. He was replaced by Austin Lotz, who allowed three goals on 12 shots.
