Philadelphia Flyers forward Michael Raffl will be out 6-8 weeks with a lower-body injury.
Raffl was injured in the second period of a 4-0 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday. He blocked a shot before playing one shift and did not return for the third period.
The 28-year-old has 11 points (eight goals, three assists) in 52 games this season.
He has 92 points (51 goals, 41 assists) in 269 games during four seasons, all with the Flyers. Raffl has a goal and an assist in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Philadelphia traded for forward Valtteri Filppula on Wednesday. The Flyers sent defenseman Mark Streit to the Tampa Bay Lightning before he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Filppula, 32, has 34 points (seven goals, 27 assists) in 59 games this season.
