Michael Grabner scores twice as Moose edge Rivermen 4-3 @NHLdotcom

PEORIA, Ill. - Michael Grabner scored twice as the Moose won their fourth in a row with a 4-3 victory over the Peoria Rivermen in AHL action Sunday.

Grabner's goals were his fourth and fifth of the weekend. He had previously scored a hat trick against Iowa on Friday.

Jason Krog also scored and Jason Jaffray had the game winner as the Moose (26-12-0-2) tied the Grand Rapids Griffins atop the North Division with 54 points each.

Manitoba and Peoria were held scoreless for the first period before Grabner kick started the Moose offence in the second.

Peoria answered back in the third. Jonathan Filewich and Steve Wagner scored for the Rivermen, but Jaffray's goal at 19:41 put the Moose out of reach.

Peoria forward Steve Regier scored just 12 seconds later but it was too late for the Rivermen who dropped to 21-18-1-1.

Manitoba netminder Karl Goehring picked up the win with 24 saves, while at the other end Ben Bishop stopped 25 shots.
