REGINA - Michael Ferland had a hat trick to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 5-2 win over the Regina Pats in Western Hockey League action Wednesday night.
Mark Stone had three assists for the Wheat Kings with while Ryan Pulock added a goal and two assists. Darian Dziurzysnki also scored while Eric Roy had two assists.
Martin Marincin scored both goals for Regina (35-25-7) and Jordan Weal picked up two assists.
Stone's big night gave him 111 points (39 goals, 72 assists) on the season and tied him with Weal (38 goals, 73 assists) for second in league scoring.
Brandon (36-27-4) picked up an important two points after coming into the game in eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
The Pats, meanwhile, missed a chance to clinch a playoff spot.
The Wheat Kings scored twice on five power play attempts while Regina went 2-for-6 with the extra skater.
Cam Boes made 30 saves for his 20th win of the season. Adam Beukeboom stopped 27 shots for Regina.
