Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Michael Del Zotto will miss 4-5 weeks because of a lower-body injury.
Del Zotto, 26, is entering his third season with the Flyers.
He had four goals and nine assists in 52 games last season. He missed the final 28 games of the regular season and the Flyers' six-game loss to the Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference First Round with a wrist injury.
In 433 NHL games with the New York Rangers, Nashville Predators and Flyers, Del Zotto has 171 points (41 goals, 130 assists).
Del Zotto had 32 points (10 goals, 22 assists) with Philadelphia in 2014-15, second among Flyers defensemen and his most since 2011-12, when he had a career-high 41 points (10 goals, 31 assists) with the Rangers.
The Flyers open the regular season Oct. 14 at the Los Angeles Kings.
