Marlins play hockey

The Miami Marlins are taking a shot at making the Florida Panthers roster.

The MLB team posted a video on Twitter showing different players taking slap shots at a net in the clubhouse to show off their hockey skills.

While pitcher Tanner Scott was the most accurate (scoring three times), pitcher Jesus Luzardo looked to have the best handles. He scored one of his two goals with an impressive between-the-legs slapshot that would've fooled any goalie (except for maybe Florida Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, if we're sticking with the South Florida theme).

The Panthers -- who play in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday -- enjoyed watching the crossover and showed their appreciation on Twitter.

Based on that performance, the Marlins might be getting measured for some hockey pads soon.
