Meurs scores in overtime to lead the Whalers over the Greyhounds 4-3 @NHL

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Garrett Meurs scored the tying goal late in the third period and then added the game winner in overtime to lift the Plymouth Whalers over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Mitchell Heard had a goal and an assist for the Whalers (18-8-3) as Jamie Devane added a single to round out Plymouth's scoring.

Nick Cousins scored two goals for Sault Ste. Marie (14-11-3) and Dylan Staples had the other.

Scott Wedgewood made 32 saves for the win while Jack Cambell stopped 33 shots in defeat.

The Whalers went 0-for-2 on the power play as the Greyhounds went 0-for-4.
