Medicine Hat Tigers forward Emerson Etem named WHL player of the week @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Medicine Hat Tigers forward Emerson Etem was named the Western Hockey League's player of the week Tuesday.

Etem picked up seven points (six goals, one assist) in three games last week as the Tigers went 2-1-0 to improve to 5-3-0 on the season.

The WHL has nominated Andrey Makarov of the Saskatoon Blades for the Canadian Hockey League's goaltender of the week award.

Makarov posted a 2-0-0 record last week, stopping 59-of-61 shots for a 1.00 goals-against average and a 0.967 save percentage.
