McElhinney, Blue Jackets shut down Predators @NHLdotcom

The Columbus Blue Jackets got a 36-save performance by backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney and beat the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena.

Defenseman James Wisniewski set up Artem Anisimov's first-period power-play goal, then scored a shorthanded goal 4:22 into the second period to make it 2-0. Jared Boll's goal at 7:53 of the third period completed the scoring.

Nick Foligno assisted on the first two goals for Columbus.

Pekka Rinne made 24 saves for the Predators.
