COL@EDM: McDavid propels Oilers with six-point game

Connor McDavid not only filled up the score sheet on Thursday, he also lit up social media.

The Edmonton Oilers center scored an NHL career-high six points (three goals, three assists) in a 6-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche at Rogers Place.
McDavid became the first Oilers player to have six points in a game since Sam Gagner had eight (four goals, four assists) on Feb. 2, 2012.
Not surprisingly, his performance in the Oilers win generated plenty of excitement on Twitter.

One fan wondered what Gagner might have been thinking during the game.

Another fan was already thinking about what he would tell his kids about McDavid when he has kids.

However, there was also some love for McDavid's linemate Leon Draisaitl, who had five assists.

And there was even some snark over McDavid not getting a point in the third period.
