McDavid cleared for contact, practises with Canada's world junior team @NHLdotcom

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Connor McDavid took part in full practice with Canada's world junior team for the first time since camp opened last week.

McDavid was cleared for contact less than five weeks after breaking a bone in his right hand during a fight in the Ontario Hockey League.

Wearing No. 17 in a regular white jersey, McDavid took line rushes between Nic Petan and Robby Fabbri.

In the first three practises of camp, McDavid wore a yellow non-contact jersey.

The 17-year-old did not participate in either of two exhibition games over the weekend in Toronto.

Canada is skating at Meridian Centre in St. Catharines this week before its international exhibition opener Friday night at Air Canada Centre against Russia.

It's unclear when or if McDavid will play in one of those three exhibition games.
