PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Myles McCauley recorded two goals and an assist to lead the Plymouth Whalers past the Sarnia Sting 7-2 Friday night in Ontario Hockey League play.
Austin Levi, Stefan Noesen, Tyler Seguin, Josh Brittain and AJ Jenks also scored for the Whalers (11-7-0), supporting Matt Hackett's 40-save outing.
Kyle Neuber and Kale Kerbashian scored for Sarnia (9-9-1), while goaltenders Shayne Campbell and Adam Courchaine combined to make 40 stops.
McCauley has been a pleasant surprise for Plymouth after not seeing full-time ice time last season.
"He'll continue to progress over the course of the year," said Whalers assistant coach Brian Sommariva. "He has some things to work on like working along the wall, but he's continuing to work hard each day. He's just an amazingly skilled hockey player."
With 10 goals and 10 assists in 18 games thus far, McCauley has far surpassed his totals of four goals and an assist in just 33 games a year ago.
