LAS VEGAS- While Patrice Bergeron and Bruce Cassidy fell just short of capturing some hardware at the NHL Awards on Wednesday night, the Bruins didn't go home completely empty-handed.
Charlie McAvoy was named to the NHL's Rookie All-Star Team following the ceremony, joining fellow defenseman Will Butcher (New Jersey), goalie Juuse Saros (Nashville), and forwards Mathew Barzal (Islanders), Brock Boeser (Vancouver), and Clayton Keller (Arizona).

The 20-year-old blue liner collected 7 goals and 25 assists for 32 points in 63 games with a plus-20 rating during his stellar freshman campaign. His average ice time of 22:09 was the highest among all first-year players.
McAvoy's 32 points were good for third-most among rookie defenseman - tied with the Islanders' Ryan Pulock - behind Butcher (44) and Tampa's Mikhail Sergachev (40). His plus-20 rating was second to teammate Matt Grzelcyk's plus-21.
The former first-round pick, who missed significant time in March due to a knee injury, also finished fifth in the Calder Trophy race (top rookie), receiving 24 seconds-place votes, 28 thirds, 27 fourths, and 18 fifths.
