TORONTO - Maxime Clermont of the Gatineau Olympiques picked up the season's first Canadian Hockey League goaltender of the week award Tuesday.
He had two victories last week and posted a goals-against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .964.
Clermont made 30 saves in a 3-2 win over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Friday night. He made 23 saves in a 3-0 shutout win over the Val d'Or Foreurs on Saturday.
Clermont, a 17-year-old from Montreal, is in his third season with the Olympiques.
Jason Missiaen of the Ontario Hockey League's Peterborough Petes and Ian Curtis of the Western Hockey League's Portland Winterhawks were also considered.
