Mattias Janmark signed a one-year, $1 million contract to stay with the Edmonton Oilers on Friday.
The 30-year-old forward could have been an unrestricted free agent July 1. He had 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) in 66 regular-season games for the Oilers this season and one assist in five Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the third round (No. 79) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Janmark has 183 points (76 goals, 107 assists) in 486 regular-season games for the Oilers, Vegas Golden Knights, Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars, and 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists) in 66 playoff games.
