Matte scores in overtime as Prince George shades Chilliwack 3-2

CHILLIWACK, B.C. - Brian Matte's goal 2:09 into overtime gave the Prince George Cougars a 3-2 win over the Chilliwack Bruins on Saturday night in the Western Hockey League.

Cameron Cepek and Marek Viedensky added second-period goals for the Cougars (3-1-0-0), who won despite being outshot 41-31 on the night. Chris Van Duynhoven and Brandon Manning countered for the Bruins (1-1-0-0). Kevin Armstrong's 39-save effort helped Prince George salvage the win.

Chilliwack netminder Lucas Gore stopped 28 shots.
