Matt Pope scores twice as the Manitoba Moose hammer Rockford 6-1
NHL.com @NHLdotcomWINNIPEG - Matt Pope scored twice and added an assist, and the Manitoba Moose had little trouble beating the Rockford IceHogs 6-1 in American Hockey League play Friday.
Pope opened the scoring with two goals in the first period.
Matt Pettinger, Marco Rosa and Yan Stastny added goals for the Moose (33-28-6) in the second, while Peter Olvecky scored in the third.
Centre Matt Keith scored the lone goal for Rockford (38-25-6) in the second.
Moose goaltender Cory Schneider made 28 saves for the win, while at the other end Corey Crawford and Hannu Toivonen combined to stop 23 shots.
