SAN JOSE --In a season of firsts, Pittsburgh Penguins rookie goalie Matt Murray can now cross another one off his list.
"First time ever in California," Murray said on Friday. "I love it."

Murray, a 22-year-old from Thunder Bay, Ontario, arrived here with the Penguins on Thursday and will be in net for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Saturday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).
"It seems like hockey is definitely growing [in California]," Murray said. "It's not exactly known as a hockey state by any means. You look around the rink here, you see all these kids running around, everybody is into the hockey thing. It's cool."

The weather certainly isn't cool. It was in the mid-90s on Friday. That's been a shock to Murray's system.
"I'm not used to the hot weather this time of year," Murray said. "I'm from pretty far up north in Ontario. The hot kind of bugs me a little bit. But I really like it [in California]."
