CRANBROOK, B.C. - Kootenay Ice goalie Todd Mathews made 25 saves for his first career shutout in a 3-0 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings in WHL action on Wednesday night.
Ice opened the scoring while shorthanded, as Kevin King fired a wrist shot high on the glove side. It was King's first career short-handed goal. The Oil Kings gave up the puck in their zone and it rolled to a wide open Max Reinhart, who scored on a wrist shot low on the stick side.
The Ice made it 3-0 late in the second period as Dominik Pacovsky's dumped the puck into the zone from centre ice and it bounced through the goalies' legs.
