Mathews makes 20 saves as Kootenay Ice shut out Medicine Hat Tigers 4-0 @NHLdotcom

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Kootenay Ice goaltender Todd Mathews stopped 20 shots in a 4-0 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

King scored twice for Kootenay, while Max Reinhart and Elgin Pearce also tallied. Mathews earned his first WHL playoff shutout.

Tyler Bunz stopped 25 shots for the Tigers.

The series resumes Tuesday night in Medicine Hat with the Ice holding a 2-0 lead.
