Martin Jones stops 23 as Calgary Hitmen edge Kelowna Rockets 2-1 @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Martin Jones made 23 saves as the Calgary Hitmen edged the Kelowna Rockets 2-1 in Western Hockey League action Saturday.

Joel Broda amd Rigby Burgart tallied for Calgary (45-17-3).

Brandon McMillan was the lone scorer for Kelowna (30-30-6).

Jones and Kelowna goaltender Adam Brown went shot for shot through the first two periods, with both stopping 17.

Brown's shutout bid ended less than a minute into the third, when Broda scored on the power play.

Burgart added the eventual winner for Calgary just over four minutes later. Brown finished with 27 saves.

Jones's hope for a shutout of his own were ended by Kelowna's McMillan at 14:22, but that was all Jones would let in.
