Maroon has five-point night, including hat trick as Knights stomp 67's 8-2 @NHLdotcom

LONDON, Ont. - Patrick Maroon registered a hat trick and added two assists as the London Knights pounded the Ottawa 67's 8-2 Sunday in OHL action.

Both Kevin Montgomery and Jadran Beljo registered three assists, with Beljo scoring a power-play goal in the first period. Tony Romano scored twice for the Knights (2-6-0-0), while Philip McRae and Andrew Wilkins each scored a single.

Michael Latta and Thomas Nesbitt counted for Ottawa (5-3-0-2).

Despite the lopsided outcome the two teams were equal on shot attempts (36), but London's Steve Mason was the better goalie stopping 34, while Ottawa's Adam Courchaine blocked 28.
