Mark Recchi hoping to get name on Cup 1 more time @NHLdotcom

BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Bruins thought they were getting some veteran experience when they traded for Mark Recchi during the 2009 stretch run.

What they didn't expect from Recchi, who turned 43 last month, was a youthful outlook that has infected the Boston roster with enthusiasm and energy.

Bruins coach Claude Julien says that Recchi is young at heart, even as the oldest active player in the NHL. And that's a big reason his younger teammates look up to him.

Recchi moved into 12th place on the NHL's career points list on Tuesday night with an assist in Boston's 3-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

He says if he can keep this run going, he won't stick around just to move up the list more.

"It just makes it real easy for me to say, 'See you later,"' he said.
