Marco Rosa lifts St. John's IceCaps over Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-3 @NHLdotcom

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Marco Rosa's power-play goal at the 12:10 mark of the third period stood as the winner on Sunday as the St. John's IceCaps edged the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-3 in American Hockey League play.

Riley Holzapfel, Ben Chiarot and Jason DeSantis scored in the first 18 minutes of the game to give the IceCaps (9-2-3) a 3-0 lead. Rosa also added an assist.

David Ullstrom and Casey Cizikas had goals 13 seconds apart for Bridgeport (6-5-1) to put the score at 3-2 by the end of the first. Aaron Ness tied the game 4:43 into the second period.

That set the stage for Rosa's power-play heroics.

St. John's David Aebischer stopped 10 of 13 shots in 24:38 of work. Edward Pasquale saved all 12 shots he faced in relief.

Mikko Koskinen made 23 saves for the Sound Tigers.

The IceCaps went 1-for-4 on the power play while Bridgeport was 0-for-5 on the man advantage.
