BRAMPTON, Ont. - Tomas Marcinko's first goal of the game at the 14:22 mark of the third period broke a 1-1 deadlock and lifted the Barrie Colts to a 3-1 victory over the Brampton Battalion in Game One of their OHL Eastern Conference quarter-final Thursday night.

Brampton opened the scoring :40 into the middle stanza on the power play when Cody Hodgson pounced on a loose puck in the high slot and fired a wrister past Hutchinson.

Stefan Della Rovere knotted things up for Barrie with a man advantage tally of his own at the 6:52 mark.

Marcinko added an empty netter with less than a minute remaining in the third period to seal the win for the Colts.

The seventh-seeded Colts got stellar goaltending from Michael Hutchinson, who turned aside 31 of 32 shots. Bryan Pitton stopped 26 of 27 shots for the second-seeded Battalion, who have now lost nine straight playoff games to Barrie, dating back to the second round of the 2005-06 post-season.

Game Two goes Saturday night in Barrie, with the third game back in Brampton on Sunday evening.
