Maple Leafs sign D Brett Lebda to 2-year deal @NHL

TORONTO (AP) -The Toronto Maple Leafs signed unrestricted free-agent defenseman Brett Lebda to a two-year contract Wednesday.

The 28-year-old native of Buffalo Grove, Ill., had one goal and seven assists in 63 games with Detroit last season.

Lebda, a 5-foot-9, 195-pounder, has career totals on 18 goals, 50 assists and 201 penalty minutes in 326 regular season games.

He had 10 assists and 40 penalty minutes in 62 career playoff games, and was on the Red Wings' Stanley Cup championship team in 2007-08.
