Maple Leafs sign college free agent Tyler Bozak to two-year deal @NHLdotcom

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs have landed another coveted college free agent.

University of Denver centre Tyler Bozak signed a two-year deal with the NHL team on Friday. The 23-year-old from Regina was pursued by several teams after going undrafted.

"We are absolutely thrilled that Tyler has chosen to sign with the Maple Leafs," Leafs GM Brian Burke said in a statement. "He is a young man that was coveted by a large number of teams in our league and it's our goal to help him reach his potential with our organization.

"He's a responsible player at both ends of the ice and he has shown the ability to put points on the board with his quickness at the collegiate level."

Bozak had eight goals and 23 points in 19 games this season for Denver. He missed three months with a knee injury.

Earlier this week, the Maple Leafs signed Notre Dame forward Christian Hanson.
