Roman Polak to have Player Safety hearing

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Roman Polak will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for boarding Columbus Blue Jackets forward Oliver Bjorkstrand on Wednesday.

The incident occurred 55 seconds into the third period of Toronto's 5-2 win at Nationwide Arena. Polak received a five-minute boarding penalty and a game misconduct. Bjorkstrand did not return to the game.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
