Timothy Liljegren has a high-ankle sprain and the Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman prospect will not play for Sweden at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship next week.

Liljegren was injured playing for the Toronto Marlies against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in an American Hockey League game Dec. 1. He is week to week.
The 19-year-old, who was selected in the first round (No. 17) of the 2017 NHL Draft, has eight points (two goals, six assists) in 19 AHL games this season.
The 2019 WJC will be held in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia, from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.
