Maple Leafs place Bozak, Gardiner on IR: report @NHLdotcom

Center Tyler Bozak and defenseman Jake Gardiner were placed on injured reserved by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday, according to TSN.

Bozak (lower body) sustained his injury on Oct. 16 in a 6-3 victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He has one goal and two points in four games this season.

Gardiner (undisclosed) apparently sustained his injury in a 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Oct. 17. He has a goal and two points in five games.

The Maple Leafs recalled forward Byron Froese from the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League. Froese, 24, has three goals in four games with the Marlies this season.
