virtue rielly split

Morgan Rielly and Tessa Virtue are officially a thing.

After months of speculation that the Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman was in a relationship with retired Canadian ice dancer, Rielly acknowledged during a conference call on Thursday that the two are in self-isolation together in North Vancouver during the coronavirus pandemic.
"We're both kind of in it together, we're trying to keep each other sane, and we're doing what we can to do our part and just quarantine in," Rielly said.
"I really won't talk about it too much, I'll just say that I'm glad I'm not alone because I think that can be challenging. I think it's important to keep in touch with those people in your life that are alone right now. It can be tough at times so I think that's important for all of us to do."
Virtue and ice dance partner Scott Mohr were the 2010 Olympic champions, the 2018 Olympic champions, the 2014 Olympic silver medalists, and were three-time World champions (2010, 2012, 2017). On September 17, 2019, they announced they were "stepping away" from the sport after 22 years of skating together.
Rielly and Virtue made their first public appearance together at the Blue and White Leafs Gala back in January. Then, last week, Virtue was being interviewed by Arkells singer Max Kerman on a livestream on the band's Instagram account when Rielly popped into the frame.
"We're lucky we're able with safe distances that we can be outside," Virtue told Kerman.
