NEW YORK - Toronto Maple Leafs forward Michael Bunting has been suspended for three games for an illegal check to the head and interference against Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Erik Cernak during Game 1 of the teams' First Round series in Toronto on Tuesday, April 18, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 15:36 of the second period. Bunting was assessed a match penalty.
