Manning and Sward each with a hat trick to lead the Giants over the Royals 11-3 @NHLdotcom

VANCOUVER - Neil Manning scored three goals as the Vancouver Giants? defeated the Victoria Royals 11-3 in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Dalton Sward also scored a hat trick while Marek Tvrdon had two-goals and three assists for Vancouver (14-8-1). Brendan Gallagher added one goal and three assists. Cain Franson had a goal and two assists as Taylor Makin scored his first goal as a Giant to round out the scoring.

Steven Hodges, Jamie Crooks and Logan Nelson scored for Victoria (11-11-1)

Adam Morrison made 11 saves in the win.

Keith Hamilton started in goal for the Royals but was pulled after allowing four goals on 26 shots. Jared Rathjen faired no better in relief, allowing seven goals on 16 shots.

Vancouver went 5-for-7 on the power play while Victoria failed to score on fiveopportunitieswith the man advantage.

The Giants sit in first place in the WHL?s B.C. Division, though the Kamloops Blazers have three games in hand.
