Evgeni Malkin hit 1,000 career points, and then the congratulations started pouring in.
The Pittsburgh Penguins center was showered with love from current and former teammates after he reached the milestone with a secondary assist on Phil Kessel's second-period goal in Pittsburgh's 5-3 win.
Marc-Andre Fleury, who played with Malkin in Pittsburgh for 11 seasons before joining the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft, recorded a message for his ex-teammate. He capped the clip with some of that classic Fleury wit.
Chris Kunitz, who twice won the Stanley Cup alongside Malkin in 2016 and 2017, also sent along a message for his former linemate.
Kris Letang, who missed the game Wednesday with a lower-body injury, posted a photo and congratulations for Malkin's milestone accomplishment.
Malkin has recorded all of his points with the Penguins and was named the game's No. 1 star with two assists Tuesday. That his milestone point came on a goal from Kessel was perfect.
