Make it 19: Norfolk beats Albany 2-1 to maintain AHL record winning streak @NHLdotcom

NORFOLK, Va. - Tyler Johnson scored as the Norfolk Admirals beat the Albany Devils 2-1 to win an American Hockey League record 19th straight game Friday.

Jean-Philippe Cote also scored for Norfolk (46-18-3), which has won the most consecutive games during one season in the AHL.

Eric Gelinas scored a power-play goal in the first period for Albany (28-27-11), but that was all the offence they would get against Admirals goaltender Jaroslav Janus.

Cote tied the game just 18 seconds later and Johnson capped the scoring at 12:08 in the second.

Janus finished with 26 saves, while at the other end Devils goalie Jeff Frazee also stopped 26 shots.

Norfolk, which has already earned a playoff spot, has outscored opponents 42-13 in the team's last 10 games.
