Makarov's 39 saves backstops Blades to 4-1 win over Calgary Hitmen @NHLdotcom

SASKATOON - Andrey Makarov made 39 saves to backstop the Saskatoon Blades to a 4-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday night in the Western Hockey League.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Josh Nicholls and Matej Stransky both had a goal and an assist to lead the Saskatoon (10-5-1) offence. Darren Dietz and Lukas Sutter also scored in the win.

Chase Clayton, with his first goal of the season, provided the lone Hitmen goal as Calgary hit one crossbar and three goal posts in the loss.

Calgary is now 6-7-1 on the season.
