Mahalak makes 31 saves to lead Plymouth over Barrie 4-1

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Matt Mahalak stopped 31 shots to lead the Plymouth Whalers over the Barrie Colts 4-1 Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Jamie Devane had a goal and two assists for the Whalers (9-6-2) while Andy Bathgate and Alex Aleardi each had a goal and an assist.

Tom Wilson scored the other goal for Plymouth.

Tanner Pearson scored the only goal for Barrie (8-7-1).

Mathias Niederberger finished with 33 saves for the loss.

Cody Payne, acquired on Wednesday from Oshawa, made his Plymouth debut and was plus-1 on the game playing on a line with Devane and Aleardi.
