Nathan MacKinnon Vancouver Canucks Three Stars postgame 2018 February 26

Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon was named the NHL's second star for the week ending on March 18, the league announced on Monday.
MacKinnon finished tied for second in league scoring with linemate Mikko Rantanen in games played since March 12. He produced a week-high six goals and added two assists to help the Avalanche to a 3-1-0 record in four contests.

The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, native produced two, three-point performances last week and has now produced three or more points in an outing 13 times this year. It's the most three-point games by an NHL player this season and the most by a Colorado skater since Peter Forsberg did it 14 times in 2002-03.
MacKinnon recorded two goals and an assist in wins on Thursday at the St. Louis Blues and Sunday versus the Detroit Red Wings. He also scored in Tuesday's victory at the Minnesota Wild and Friday' loss against the league-leading Nashville Predators.
His second tally on Thursday was his 11th game-winning goal of the campaign, tying him with the Calgary Flames' Sean Monahan for the league lead.
The 22-year-old is on a 12-game point streak (13 goals and 11 assists), the longest by an Avs player since he produced a run of 13 straight outings during his rookie campaign in 2013-14. It is the second-longest active streak in the league behind the Winnipeg Jets' Patrik Laine (15 games).
MacKinnon is tied for second overall in the league in scoring with 89 points (38 goals and 51 assists), four behind leader Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning (93). The forward leads all players with 1.39 points per game.
He has been named in the league's weekly honors now four times this season, the most by any Colorado player since the franchise moved to Denver in 1995-96.
He was the third star for the week of Nov. 13-19 when he recorded seven points (two goals and five assists) in three contests, first star for the week of Jan. 15-21 with six points (four goals and two assists) in three outings, and first star for the week of Feb. 26-March 4 with 11 points (five goals and six assists) in four games.
MacKinnon was also named the league's first star for the month of November after he recorded five goals and 15 assists in 12 games.
