Mackenzie Royer scores twice to lead Hitmen past Broncos 6-1 @NHLdotcom

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - The Calgary Hitmen extended their winning streak to five games with a 6-1 victory over the Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League play Tuesday.

Calgary led 1-0 after the first and 3-1 after the second en route to its 37th win of the season. The Hitmen outshot the Broncos 37-16. Mackenzie Royer, with two, Brandon Kozun, Joel Broda, Jimmy Bubnick and Del Cowan scored for Calgary.

Cody Eakin scored his 39th of the season for Swift Current. Eakin is tied with Regina's Jordan Eberle for the league goal-scoring lead.

Calgary netminder Michael Snider improved to 13-5-2 after a 15-save performance.

Swift Current goaltender Morgan Clark gave up six goals on 37 shots while falling to 17-13-1.

The Central Division leading Hitmen improved their record to 37-16-2.

Swift Current remains ninth in the Eastern Conference after falling to 28-26-3 and remains a single point behind Moose Jaw for the final playoff spot.
