MacKay scores winner as Medicine Hat edges Lethbridge 5-4 in physical match

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Matt MacKay scored the winner with five minutes left to play as the Medicine Hat Tigers nipped the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-4 in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Bretton Cameron had back-to-back goals for Medicine Hat (40-23-8), while Taylor Gal and Wavey Hamilton added markers.

Graham Hood, Philip Tot and Jacob Berglund gave Lethbridge (20-43-8) a 3-1 lead at the end of the second. Brody Sutter tallied in the third period.

A physical game, a line brawl resulted in the ejection of a total of seven players, including goalies Linden Rowat and Tyler Bunz.

Before the fights, Bunz had stopped 19 of 21 shots for the Tigers. He was replaced by Deven Dubyk, who earned the win with five saves on seven chances.

Rowat turned aside 22 of 23 shots for the Hurricanes before giving way to Brandon Anderson, who made 12 of a possible 16 saves.
