Machacek has two goals and three assists as Giants hammer Winter Hawks @NHLdotcom

PORTLAND, Ore. - Spencer Machacek had two goals and three assists to lead the Vancouver Giants to a 7-2 win over the Portland Winter Hawks in Western Hockey League play on Wednesday night.

Machacek scored a power play goal in the first period and got his second goal in the second period to make the score 4-1. Mario Bliznak also had two goals ad added an assist for a three-point night.

James Henry, Evander Kane, and Garet Hunt also scored for Vancouver (36-12-1-5) .

Tristan King scored on a penalty shot in the third period and assisted on Jacob Dietrich's goal in the first period for Portland (9-45-1-1).

Giants goalie Tyson Sexsmith (34-9) made 13 saves for the win, while an overworked Kurtis Mucha stopped 53 shots to fall to 7-29 on the season.
