Lyall scores twice as red-hot Sault Ste. Marie cruises past Saginaw 5-1 @NHL

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Matthew Lyall had a pair of goals as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds continued their incredible run to start the season with a 5-1 trouncing of the Saginaw Spirit in OHL action Friday.

Lyall scored twice in the third period to put the finishing touches on the Greyhounds' third straight win. Sault Ste. Marie (9-0-1-0) is the only team that has not lost a regulation game this season.

Arron Alphonso had a goal and two assists while Chris MacKinnon added a goal and an assist for the Greyhounds. Dustin Jeffrey chipped in with three assists in the victory, and Kyle Gajewski made the lead stand with 27 saves.

Tyler Murovich had the lone goal for the Spirit (2-3-2-1), who got a 21-save performance from Ryan Daniels.
