Goaltender Roberto Luongo moved into sole possession of seventh place on the NHL's all-time wins list by making 35 saves in the Florida Panthers' 6-3 victory against the Detroit Red Wings at BB&T Center on Thursday.

It was Luongo's 424th regular-season win, breaking a tie with Hockey Hall of Fame member Tony Esposito, who played from 1969-70 through 1983-84. Luongo is 23-13-4 this season and 424-344-76, with 33 ties, in his NHL career.
Luongo is 13 wins behind Jacques Plante for sixth place.
