The Game

The Los Angeles Kings will play the Vegas Golden Knights for the first time in a matchup of the top two teams in the Pacific Division at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday.

The Kings, playing the second of a back-to-back set, defeated the Florida Panthers 4-0 on Saturday to end a four-game losing streak. Goalie Jonathan Quick will start after backup Darcy Kuemper made 24 saves for his second win of the season.

The Golden Knights have won two of their past three games after a 1-4-1 road trip. Goalie Maxime Lagace will start even though goalie Malcolm Subban was activated from injured reserve Friday.

Defenseman Luca Sbisa (lower body) is expected to miss his third straight game.

Players to watch

Forward Jussi Jokinen has two assists in two games with the Kings since being acquired in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers for forward Michael Cammalleri on Nov. 14. He had one assist in 14 games with the Oilers.

Golden Knights forward William Karlsson has seven points (four goals, three assists) in his past six games. He has scored all seven of his goals in his past 12 games.

They said it

"I think there's lots of time to go to Vegas for things other than hockey. From the outside, it might look like that's an issue. I think the fact that we're going and playing a big division game, what goes on outside the rink there I think is a non-issue." -- Kings coach John Stevens

"Win or lose, you want to be out there with your team. It's tough when you can't, especially when there are long road trips and you're back home. It [stinks] sometimes." -- Golden Knights goalie Malcolm Subban
