LAK@TBL: Hedman rips a shot past Campbell in SO

TAMPA -- The Tampa Bay Lightning reached 100 points this season and won their ninth consecutive game, 4-3 in the shootout against the Los Angeles Kings at Amalie Arena on Monday.

J.T. Miller tied the game 3-3 at 12:04 of the third after the Kings scored three straight goals in the period. He scored with a one-timer from the right hash marks off a pass from Steven Stamkos.
"I don't know exactly how Stamkos] got it, I think [Ondrej Palat] disrupted the play," Miller said. "I just tried to present myself, and it was nice to see it go in."

Brayden Point and Anthony Cirelli scored for the Lightning (48-11-4), who tied their record for most consecutive wins, set from Feb. 18-March 5, 2016, and became the fourth team in NHL history to reach 100 points in 63 games or fewer. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 30 saves.
"When you are up two, you want to shut it down in the third," said defenseman Victor Hedman, who scored the deciding goal in the fourth round of the shootout. "You have to give them credit too, they did not go away. They kept pushing and got rewarded. We are a resilient group. [Nine] straight wins, you don't get that by fluke, so very happy that we've been able to put together a point streak like this again."
The Lightning, who are 11-0-2 in their past 13 games, lead the Boston Bruins by 19 points for first place in the Eastern Conference.
Alex Iafallo, Jonny Brodzinski and Austin Wagner scored 5:46 apart in the third for the Kings (23-32-7), who have lost eight straight games (0-5-3). Jack Campbell made 31 saves.

"That's a tough team over there, they're really good," Campbell said. "I thought we came in and battled. I thought we competed. That's the type of compete the rest of the year."
Iafallo made it 2-1 at 5:20 when he scored on the rebound of a shot by Wagner.
Brodzinski tied it 2-2 at 10:30 with a goal in his first game of the season. Brendan Leipsic stole the puck off Vasilevskiy's stick and found Brodzinski in the slot for a one-timer.
"It felt good, my legs felt great," Brodzinski said. "As far as the team goes, I felt like we played well tonight. We made a couple mistakes in the first period that led to their goals, but I thought we played well coming back."
Wagner gave the Kings a 3-2 lead at 11:06 when he scored off a pass from Trevor Lewis.
"We knew this team was going to come at us pretty hard and we had to be quick on the puck," Los Angeles coach Willie Desjardins said. "I thought we deserved more, early. Overall, the guys worked hard."
Point gave the Lightning a 1-0 lead when he scored on the power play at 1:05 of the first period. It was his Tampa Bay-leading 36th goal.

Cirelli made it 2-0 with a redirection of a shot by Braydon Coburn at 8:08 of the first.
"You have a two-goal lead at home, it needs to be automatic for our group and it should be with where we are," Lightning captain Steven Stamkos said. "We found a way, nine straight wins is something to be proud of, but we just want to continue to keep getting better."
