Cam Talbot signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

The 35-year-old goalie, who was an unrestricted free agent, was 17-14-2 with a 2.93 goals-against average, .898 save percentage and one shutout in 36 games (32 starts) for the Ottawa Senators last season.

"When this opportunity came up to sign here now, it just kind of seemed like a no-brainer," Talbot said. "Like I said, this team is built to win right now. They are very goalie friendly with the system that they play, and I'm just going to step in and make it as seamless as possible and try to give them some good outings."

Talbot added that another reason he signed with the Kings was coach Todd McLellan, who he played for with the Edmonton Oilers from 2015-18.

"Playing in Todd's system, obviously I'm very comfortable with that, playing in it for four years now," Talbot said. "It was definitely a huge selling point to come to a team like this that's on the cusp of winning and to play in a system that I already know, play for a guy that I already know, that hugely respect in Todd. It just seemed everything fell into place.

"Playing for Todd in Edmonton, obviously I had some of my best years when I was there. He rode me pretty hard when I was there. I played the most amount of games I've ever played, had some of my best years, and getting to reunite with him is definitely a huge bonus for me. And coming to a team that's been building towards something here, they want to win, and I'm at the point in my career where I want to win, too, so this was a huge opportunity for me to come here and step in and hopefully challenge and play some games."

Signed by the New York Rangers as an undrafted free agent on March 30, 2010, Talbot is 218-156-36 with a 2.65 GAA, .914 save percentage and 28 shutouts in 432 regular-season games (413 starts) for the Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Minnesota Wild and Senators, and 15-16 with a 2.51 GAA, .921 save percentage and six shutouts in 33 Stanley Cup Playoff games (31 starts).

The Kings also signed forward Trevor Lewis and center Jaret Anderson-Dolan , each on a one-year, $775,000 contract.

Lewis, 36, had 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) in 82 games for the Calgary Flames last season.

Anderson-Dolan, 23, had 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in 46 games with Los Angeles last season, and no points in four playoff games.
