NEW YORK --Jordan Eberle scored at 1:54 of overtime to lift the New York Islanders to a 4-3 win against the Los Angeles Kings at Barclays Center on Saturday.
Eberle scored his 13th goal of the season when he finished a 2-on-1 with Mathew Barzal after Anze Kopitar tied the game for Los Angeles with 13 seconds remaining in the third period.

"We had the momentum and we felt like we were playing well," Eberle said. "The score wasn't going our way, but we just kept pushing and found a way to take the lead. Even when adversity hit at the end of the game and they tied it, we still found a way to win."

Anders Lee scored his 20th goal of the season with 3:16 left in the third to give the Islanders a 3-2 lead. He took a pass from Ryan Pulock and beat Darcy Kuemper with a no-look backhand shot.
Kopitar tied the game when he stuffed the puck over the goal line after Thomas Greiss made an initial save against Alec Martinez's shot from the point.

The goal was upheld after video review.
"I got a lot of the puck a couple of times," Kopitar said. "I was about 95 percent sure that I wasn't hitting his pad or anything, and then I saw the replay. In my head I was thinking, 'This should be a good goal.'"
Islanders coach Doug Weight said the goal was similar to one Lee had disallowed during a 3-1 win against the Washington Capitals on Monday.
"I'm still not calm. I didn't calm anybody down," Weight said. "There was 13 seconds left, so that helps. I think they played such a good game. We played a really good game."
John Tavares tied the game at 2-2 when he scored a power-play goal 4:15 into the third period, one-timing a shot from the right face-off circle for his 19th goal of the season.

Josh Bailey had a goal and an assist for New York (18-12-3). Greiss made 26 saves, including a breakaway against Kopitar 20 seconds into overtime.
"Our group just does a real good job of staying in the moment and not worrying about things going against us or not getting bounces," Tavares said. "We believe in our group and our ability and the way we can play. I think we showed that, and obviously a big goal by Jordan."
Tyler Toffoli had a goal and an assist, and Oscar Fantenberg scored for Los Angeles (20-10-4), which has lost three in a row following an eight-game winning streak. Kuemper made 29 saves.
"Once we went down with three minutes to go, the same cast of characters find a way to get a point for us," Kings coach John Stevens said. "Ultimately, we wanted two points."

Fantenberg gave the Kings a 1-0 lead at 12:56 of the first period on a slap shot from the point.
Toffoli made it 2-0 with a power-play goal at 17:11 of the first when he took a pass from Drew Doughty and scored on a wrist shot from the left face-off circle.
Bailey redirected Calvin de Haan's shot from the left point to make it 2-1 with 50 seconds remaining in the first period. It was his ninth of the season.
"I think it was big for us, for sure," Tavares said of Bailey's goal. "Just to get rewarded, or at least feel better about our first period. Things kind of really took off from there. Anytime you get a goal late, especially when you're down, it goes a long way."

They said it

"It's definitely bittersweet. You're going into the third period with a lead, and then you end up chasing the game, three minutes left in the period. Obviously we'll take the point, but we can't be satisfied with that. I just think we're not a confident group right now. We're playing more not to lose than we are to win. We've got to turn that around." -- Kings captain Anze Kopitar
"It was great to see. We really wanted to get that win for [Greiss] too. He deserved it; he made a lot of key saves at key times. I think what people need to understand, it's not always just the goalies. It's a team effort out there defensively. Usually when things are going in, it's a result of the team, not just the goaltending. We certainly don't view those guys with any less confidence than we always have." -- Islanders forward Josh Bailey
