Quick

Jonathan Quick will have shoulder surgery Wednesday, but the Los Angeles Kings "fully expect" the goalie will be back next season, general manager Rob Blake said Tuesday.

The surgery will repair wear and tear that Quick has sustained over the years, according to Blake, who said Quick missed the final six games of the regular season after sustaining a rib injury against the Arizona Coyotes on May 3.
Quick was 11-9-2 with a 2.86 goals-against average, an .898 save percentage and two shutouts in 22 games. The 35-year-old is 336-249-69 with a 2.41 GAA, a .913 save percentage and 54 shutouts in 666 NHL games, all with Los Angeles. He has two seasons remaining on the 10-year contract he signed July 1, 2012.
Dustin Brown will have a nonsurgical procedure on an upper-body injury that Blake said "nagged" the forward throughout the season. Brown, who missed the final five regular-season games with the injury, scored 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists) in 49 games.
"He's a pretty tough player to be able to play through a lot of that," Blake said. "It got to a point where the doctors recommended he not play down the stretch, against what he wanted to do. It will require time to rehab and heal."
Brown has scored 684 points (316 goals, 368 assists) in 1,232 NHL games. The 36-year-old has one season remaining on the eight-year contract extension he signed with the Kings on July 18, 2013.
Brown and Quick won the Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2012 and 2014.
Forward Blake Lizotte is progressing from an ACL sprain that kept him out of the lineup the final nine games and will prevent him from competing for the United States in the 2021 IIHF World Championship, Blake said. Lizotte scored 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 41 games. The 23-year-old signed with Los Angeles as an undrafted free agent April 2, 2019, and has scored 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists) in 107 games with the Kings.
Los Angeles (21-28-7) finished sixth in the eight-team Honda West Division, missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the third consecutive season.
